Janvier Plants & Design is a landscape and garden design studio based in Lisbon, Portugal, approaching landscape as a discipline of art and design.

Each project is a living artwork, an exploration of form, emotion, and connection between people and place.

Our gardens emerge from observation and intuition. They are guided by light, texture, and time; shaped by context and atmosphere. We seek a balance between structure and wildness, control and spontaneity, where landscape design becomes an evolving, living experience.

Founded by Claire, a landscape and garden designer in Lisbon whose background bridges Parisian refinement and the raw beauty of Portugal, Janvier reflects a deep belief that gardens are not simply designed: they are composed, cultivated, and felt.

We create landscapes and gardens for private and residential projects in Lisbon and across Portugal, from intimate courtyards and terraces to expansive gardens and outdoor environments.

Our work encompasses garden and landscape design, planting design, plant sourcing, garden installation and ongoing garden maintenance. Depending on the scale and context of each project, installations are carried out by our own team or coordinated through a network of trusted partners, ensuring each garden is realised with care and continues to grow in harmony with its original vision.

We see landscape as an act of creation, a living form of art that evolves with time, emotion, and care.
